Jay-Z and Bacardi settled a lawsuit in 2015, and now the two co-own the luxury brand D'Usse. According to TMZ, in October, the "Family Quarrel" rapper filed a lawsuit against the alcohol group seeking "monetary clearness." However, after working out this new agreement, Jay-Z and SC Alcohol are more motivated than ever to revitalize the company, as reported by Complicated.

In a new statement, Jay-Z explained that it had been a blessing to see D'Usse grow from an idea to one of the most rapidly selling spirits in history over the past decade. "The continuation of this journey over the next few years will further cement D'Usse's legacy as one of the world's most revered brands. I can't wait to get this group back on track with Bacardi."

Jay had previously offered to buy the spirits company for $1.5 billion, but his offer was turned down. He estimated the value of the alcohol brand to be around $2.5 billion, but Bacardi made a much lower offer of $460 million.

The revised agreement called for Jay to divest himself of a sizable portion of D'Usse. Before this happened, he and Bacardi shared equal brand responsibility for their cognac, but now Bacardi seems to have staked a claim to at least 75% of D'Usse.

In the words of Complex: "the recently reported procurement stake was sold at a valuation of no less than $3 billion."
