El álbum más reciente de Amanda Shires, Take It Like A Man, salió hace unos años. Después de eso, ella y Jason Isbell se divorciaron, y ella aprovechó al máximo abrir algunos de sus conciertos. La cantautora regresa ahora para hablar sobre su próximo álbum, Nobody's Girl.
El primer sencillo, "A Way It Goes", ya está disponible. Fue creado por Lawrence Rothman, y Amanda y Rothman lo escribieron juntos. Shires dice: "Nobody's Girl es lo que vino después del naufragio, el silencio y la reconstrucción". "Trata sobre pararse en los escombros de una vida que creías eterna y darte cuenta de que nadie vendrá a salvarte".
Sound Emporium Studios en Nashville grabó Nobody's Girl. Fred Eltringham y Julian Dorio tocaron la batería, Dominic Davis el bajo, Peter Levin los teclados, Zach Setchfield la guitarra y Lawrence Rothman la guitarra. También grabó en Rothman Recorders en Los Ángeles, donde Jay Bellerose tocó la batería, Pino Palladino y Jimbo Hart el bajo, Joe Kennedy el piano y la guitarra, y Rothman volvió a tocar la guitarra. Shires toca el violín, el ukelele y la guitarra tenor.
