Kalera has voluntarily recalled 633 heads of lettuce due to problems with the quality.

It has been announced by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration that certain lots of lettuce sold in Florida are being recalled due to the possibility of salmonella infection (FDA). Whole-head Kalera branded lettuce of the Krunch, Butter, and Romaine varieties are being voluntarily recalled from retail locations across the state, totaling 633 cases.

The Real Reason Why You Shouldn't Eat Recalled Kalera Lettuce

Two batches of six different whole-head lettuce varieties tested positive for salmonella during a regular food safety assessment by Kalera. Kalera notified the FDA of the problem, but the firm has received no reports of illness. In youngsters, the elderly, and others with compromised immune systems, salmonella infections can be particularly dangerous and even fatal. Even the healthiest people can experience symptoms including fever, diarrhea, nausea, vomiting, and abdominal discomfort.

The Orlando, Florida firm is recalling 633 cases of Kalera-branded whole-head lettuces from the Krunch, Butter, and Romaine varieties with the lot numbers 001293 and 001294. The front label's lot number is located at the label's bottom center. To view a sample of the FDA-issued label, click here. Only lettuce grown in an Orlando farm and shipped to Florida stores and restaurants is tainted.

Taking Care of Recalled Lettuce

The FDA advises that you throw away any of these products that you may have in your fridge. Contact Kalera at (407) 574-8204 between 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. ET, Monday through Friday, to request a refund. To prevent the spread of disease, make sure to sanitize everything that comes into touch with the lettuce.
